I am a veteran waging this war for as long as I can remember – my lifelong career. I salute the struggle. A soldier of God can not seek this life of ease. And although these notes from the battlefield make me appear vulnerable, I find strength in releasing its truth for my service just might inspire my fellow comrade. I despise the comments and ideologies of commentators misinterpreting every word, but I continue to scream this war cry. I can not be overly concerned. I choose to serve my temple with dignity and honor though missiles fly and declarations of peace seem to be nowhere in sight. One day I’ll get to retire, but until then, I will hold my disfigured wounds with pride like so many before me. I believe that somehow these ugly scars make me sparkle.
